THREE RIBA AWARDS FOR WINDERMERE JETTY

Congratulations to Lakeland Arts and Carmody Groarke who have won the RIBA North West Award 2021, RIBA North West Client of the Year Award 2021 and RIBA North West Building of the Year Award 2021 for the Windermere Jetty museum! The new museum opened in 2019 and rehouses an internationally significant boat collection on the shores of Windermere in the Lake District National Park, with the judging panel noting "the museum exudes the confident identity of a major cultural institution." and "the views (of the lake), and the experience of the water, which become the main protagonist in the considered and choreographed sequence of the visitors’ route... successfully blurring boundaries between climate controlled galleries, workshops, the wet dock and the lake itself."
