NEW PROJECT: MUSEUM OF SPEED
Real Studios is delighted to have been commissioned by Carmarthenshire County Council to take the Sands of Speed Museum through to completion following our development of the narrative and concept designs in 2018. The new museum on Pendine Sands, 7 miles of beach on the south coast of Wales, will tell dramatic stories of over 100 years of racing, land speed records and speed trials.
The star attraction will be John Parry-Thomas’s car ‘Babs’ (otherwise known as Chitty Bang Bang 4) from when the Sands witnessed intense competition with Malcolm Campbell for the world land speed title in the 1920s – telling a story of ingenuity and fearless determination ending with the fatal crash in 1927, and subsequent excavation and restoration of Babs in 1967.
