SHAKESPEARE'S NEW PLACE

An emotive, immersive experience is promised with Real Studios' exhibition for Shakespeare's New Place. Part funded by an HLF grant and due to open for the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death, 'The house wherein I dwell' is an evocation of Shakespeare's life in his hometown - as a family man, playwright, entrepreneur and prominent citizen of Stratford-upon-Avon. The actual house was destroyed decades after he died but now, the SBT is breathing new life into the Shakespeare's New Place, unlocking the hidden heritage of Shakespeare's adult family life at the site of the only home he ever bought at the height of his success in 1597. Real Studios has given free rein to artistry and imagination with themed installations in the garden, and also in designing the engaging exhibition in neighbouring Nash's House, which has been developed with a two-storey extension by Feilden Clegg Bradley.
