Living with gods - people, places and worlds beyond
Client: The British Museum
We created an immersive, sensory and contemplative space for the British Museum's 'Living with Gods: people, places and worlds beyond'. It explored the practice and expression of religious beliefs via objects chosen to represent faith from the ice age to the present day, and accompanied a 30-part BBC Radio 4 series presented by former British Museum director Neil MacGregor.
Our free form, experiential design brought a different approach to the British Museum, steering visitors through the exhibition via a monochrome scheme of white voiles, light walls and dark floor. The objects took centre stage, placed on internally-lit display plinths, with narratives enhanced by a range of sensory elements, from light installations to sound, music and silence.
