Goodwood Revival Tearoom
Client: Goodwood Racing Company
In collaboration with Goodwood and the V&A, we created an exquisite Tearoom for the Goodwood Revival Festival. Our inspiration was the V&A’s ground breaking ‘Britain Can Make It’ exhibition.This 1946 exhibition was a precursor of the great Festival of Britain in 1951, and we delved into the V&A's archives in order to find inspiration for the whole Tearoom experience, from pop-up graphics, period furniture, props, window and table dressing to signage and invented characters (Mr Design). The Tearoom evoked accurately and memorably the aesthetics, palette and ethos of the 1940s and Britain in its 20th century manufacturing heyday.
