Boathouse 4
Client: Portsmouth Historic Dockyard
Our richly engaging exhibition dedicated to the maritime history and role of small craft is set within Boathouse 4, a Second World War building at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. The building has been handsomely restored and refurbished with £3.75m of HLF funding secured thanks to strong original proposals from our team and architects Walters & Cohen.
Situated on a mezzanine floor which overlooks the boatbuilding workshop, dedicated to real-life small boat construction and conservation, our exhibition comprises a robust range of interactive pieces made from marine quality timber and steel, designed to amuse and inform all ages on marine matters as diverse as rope-making and military strategy at sea.
