Bangabandhu Military Museum

Client: Bangladesh Navy

We have drawn on our expertise in masterplanning and maritime and military projects to shape the designs for the new Bangabandhu Military Museum. Working alongside MDM Architects in Bangladesh and Foster Lomas Architects in London, we were jointly tasked with the delivery of the Navy’s galleries, which opened in Dhaka in 2022.

Our creative approach will take visitors on an immersive journey from the early maritime history of the region, through the events of the Liberation War to the establishment and development of the Navy; a three-dimensional force capable of operating above, on and under water.

The 2,000sqm Navy displays, set over two floors of the new complex, will offer a completely new experience of a museum visit to the audiences of Bangladesh where our scheme will allow visitors to stand at the controls of a naval vessel or on desk during a naval exercise, sit in an anti-aircraft gun, pass through a section of a working submarine or a ship under construction, and view models, uniforms, artefacts and dynamic AV displays.

Our role:
